Frequently Asked Questions

What is Theta Tau?

Theta Tau is a co-ed professional engineering organization that focuses on three pillars: service, professional and social. We’re a close-knit community on campus that helps each other grow personally and professionally.

Do I have to attend all recruitment events?

Although there is no formal requirement, we strongly encourage you to come out to as many events as you can! This gives us the chance to get to know you better and you the chance to get to know us.

Is Theta Tau a big time commitment?

During your first semester, you can expect to spend 8 to 10 hours a week attending events, working on your class project, or participating in one-on-ones with members. Yet, we know you’re a busy engineer and ensure to hold study hours and check-ins so you can stay on top of your workload as well! After this first semester, you’re free to design your schedule and time commitment around any other conflicts you may have!

I’m already in another Greek letter society. Can I still join?

Unless you are in Alpha Rho Chi, Alpha Chi Sigma, Alpha Omega Epsilon, Kappa Eta Kappa, Sigma Beta Epsilon, Sigma Phi Delta, or Triangle, you may still join Theta Tau! Theta Tau is not competitive with honor societies or social fraternities and sororities.

Do I have to attend both info sessions?

Nope! And if you miss them both, don’t let that discourage you from coming to other events later in the week.

What should I expect from the interview?

The interview will be a professional 30-minute interview. This interview is a great way for us to get to know you more and ask questions. Please be sure to wear business formal attire for the interview. Overall, don’t stress! This is just a setting for us to get to know you better!

Wait, I still have a question!
